| We play all types of music from jazz to popular classics and songs from the shows. A couple of times we have played umpah music for an Austrian evening. Pieces that get a good response from the public are:- 'Under the Double Eagle', 'Musket Pipe and Drum', (From Soldier, Soldier), 'King of the Road', 'Hootenany', 'Big Band Dixieland', and 'Can't help falling in Love'. |
| Concert prices are kept low and only used to keep the band going and for buying new music. Members play for the love of it. All wind players are welcome but brass players particularly so. To get the best out of your membership you should be able to read music and have a reasonable technical ability (at least ABRSM Grade 3 or equivalent). If you are taking up your instrument again after not playing for a while, we would welcome you, and you would get lots of help and encouragement from other members of the band. |
